i love shirt dresses.
i put corn starch in my hair on
days i don't wash it. i had one of those bumble & bumble
hair powder spray things last summer, but it
was $30 & made only of corn starch & colouring.
plain corn starch hasn't the lovely colour, but it is also
only $1 for like 70% more powder.

when we did grocery shopping on saturday
i got some crumpets & bonne maman blueberry jam, &
it is so delicious! i think it would be good on
ice cream, too.

I bought a jar of that in March.
I'd planned to use it on waffles, but used it to make my daily PBJ.
it was delicious.

i usually wash my hair every other day, sometimes every three days. what does the cornstarch do for it?

it just makes it so you needn't wash it so often. the same reason you'd use the b&b hair powder. i dunno, otherwise my hair gets slick. i think i got the idea from here: http://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip543.htm

I've been using baby powder-- they both help absorb excess oil. I wonder if cornstarch is better for keeping your hair shinier & less dull like baby powder does?

i dunno, isn't baby powder cornstarch? or talc i guess.

Mine says talc on the back, but I'm not sure how or if that varies. (I liked that it smells like lavender :x)

and here i was going to splurge on some bumble & bumble for kids with roots like me--

i'm trying to grow out the black (and keep my skunk stripe) and when my hair is dirty it looks extra navy! i hope maychance corn starch will help me out-- do you use any styling product as well between corn starchings? hmm so much to ponder/experiment on my head! xo

no, unless i put my hair up or something. i so need some pomade or somesuch tho, my hair is getting unruly. i was thinking maybe you cld mix some sort of colour pigment with the cornstarch? that's all the b&b is anyhow.

Bonne Maman jam is the best. It's good in plain yogurt, on ice cream, on toast.... well just about anything really.

That dress is awesome.

You are full of good ideas- I shall have to try jam on vanilla ice cream and the corn starch especially (my hair get so greasy the second day but I hate washing every day!).

i love that jam too, truly a packaging success, since i first tried it for the beveled jar and simple french label. i love saving them, soaking off the labels and putting nuts & dried fruits in them in the pantry too. or other homemade jams.

I love that jam, too! I soak off the labels and put whiskey in them and take it to parties. I used to carry flasks but they never hold enough booze and I've lost at least two in drunk adventures. So, it's nice to have a measured amount to take out. I got this tip from my mom, who puts her whiskey in little pimento jars.

I use Pssst dry shampoo, which is just like all of the other dry shampoos out there... but only $7. baby powder didn't seem to work so well for me, but i've never tried straight cornstarch. hmm....

I'm late to the party... but these days I mostly log in to comment on your journal.

I love Bonne Maman (four fruits!) and generally buy it, though last time I got St Dalfour. About a year or so ago, there was a feature in Marie Claire Idees wherein Bonne Maman jars with the labels removed were used as storage in a cute art/craft studio, for things like buttons.

On another note... I just had to throw away about 15 Schaeffer Skrip ink cartridges from Back In The Day! Although they are sealed, they had mysteriously evaporated or thickened to the point where the ink filled only about 1/3 of the tube.
